It looks like Im the weird one

I was talking to my neighbor about dogs. I had mentioned that when I used to own a dog, I would sometimes cook the small mice and stuff he brought back to me, and then give it back to him as cooked food. My neighbor is now disgusted at me and thinks im some kind of deranged serial killer in hiding.

Maybe i was too rural, but how is what i did different from the flushing dog getting your kill and you cooking it? Instead of eating it myself, just gave it back to the dog.

I think it's the "mice and stuff" part that could be a little off-putting. Particularly the "stuff" part. Eating food cooked in the same skillet where "mice and stuff" was cooked has a big ick factor.

Reminds of a Japan story today. Guy was arrested, and a video of him rubbing his butt on a public water fountain in a park was on his phone. They're ripping out the whole fountain and replacing it.

Why did you cook the mice for the dog?. Mine are raw fed and look fantastic on it, my retriever digs out mice, catches rabbits and chomps them down, he used to play with then until his brain made the connection that it was food lol. Also raw fixed one of my dogs stomach issues after 18 months of trying everything the vet suggested, 4days on raw and 1.5 years later still no issue.

Ah, I've heard that some pelts actually help the gut of the dogs, hence I let mine eat whatever they find whole.
