I have to use microshit products every day. It occurred to me that nothing functionally beneficial has been added to these products in over a decade.

In fact, they have actually gotten worse. Everything is cloud based and runs slower than ever. Crashes and lost data are much more common. Now they just release upgrades as "Try the new version" so they can debug the shitty code on the fly. (I don't use MS for personal use, I would rather just go outside than plug into big brother).

Old microsofter here. came up through gates, did the full tour under ballmer, got booted when nadella came on.

I can tell you with 128% certainty, the problem at microsoft is the pajeets.

The underlining caste system,

The unscrupulous nature of the pajeet,

The indian power women. (oh my god, you fucks have no idea the unpleasantness of this particular creature...)

The greed and the underlining "get back at whitey for "reasons", attitude,

The shitty coding practices, lack of imagination and general idiocy of the pajeet.

It all adds up, to a really shitty product and even shitter business practices on the backend.

Also, you fucks have no idea what really goes on with your data on the backend. Hint: It's worse then any of you know...

The indian power women. (oh my god, you fucks have no idea the unpleasantness of this particular creature...)

Had some in uni, prof assistants and as students. Completely ignored them and their bullshit, right in their faces. I've literally pushed passed them to ask questions of a White man.

"Why is there shit on your fingers? Disgusting."

Some room is filled with pajeets and they masturbate to pictures of women who save "locally" on their winblows computers?

My buddy worked at Sprint. Or was it Verizon. Back in the flip phone days. Anyway, he showed me that what the staff at this location did is any time a pretty girl walked in they looked through her sprint/verizon cloud and downloaded her pictures.

[ - ] hylo 3 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 18:09:35 ago (+3/-0)

Oh I was going to comment and mention it was built by the pajeets but you beat me to it. The pajeet power woman: come to think of it there was one in my last job. She would defend her pajeet puppies tooth and nail when mentions of a bug in the Java backend came up. We had to work around those bugs, which should have never happened in the first place, in the front end.

Now they work at Amazon where they gave each other a hand up in the company. They were the dumbest people I have ever worked with.

I hate pajeets now more than even jews and niggers.

Trying to stand up a lab VM in VMWare Workstation as I type. 3rd attempt. Just need to test a stupid browser issue (need to see logs in cloud app) and it's like pulling teeth. No I don't have a windows key and have zero intention of doing anything other than web search to obtain one. Linux takes minutes to install, boots in 1/8th the time and it FUCKING WORKS. I hate windoze. bloated garbage with a psychotic mass-murdering lunatic as its' founder

Linux is legit easier to get working by far than windows now. By far.

Frfr 💯 legit or legit even that you can't even?

I switched from Linux to Windows late last year. The only reason I'll ever use Windows at home again is if game devs collectively said fuck Linux, or if Steam does that for some reason. Some street shitting cow shit eating pajeet would probably do that.

[ - ] moo 0 points 3 weeksApr 10, 2024 01:07:24 ago (+0/-0)

Why would you leave linux to use windows tho?

[ - ] JoggerLogger 2 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 18:51:06 ago (+2/-0)

everything as a service. Home computing could be so cool if tech didn’t go this route.

[ - ] Clubberlang 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 21:25:32 ago (+0/-0)

everything as a +dis >service

Windows doesn’t even try to be anything but one big 12 levels of a spy app anymore.

I switched to Linux late last year. Started on Zorin OS, tried Garuda for a bit, and am now on Nobara, due to it being gamer-friendly. Unless game devs decide to collectively revolt, I will never again use Windows at home.

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 14:57:03 ago (+0/-0)

Nobara, due to it being gamer-friendly.

Is it? I mean, I've gone through a few "gamer-friendly" linux distros and they all sucked at it.

[ - ] Kozel 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 17:56:25 ago (+1/-0)

Its fedora with some patches and wine-ge

I doubt performance would be any better than I get on artix with wine-ge, irqbalance, and zen kernel.

[ - ] TheNoticing 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 21:07:19 ago (+0/-0)

Also a few proton programs preinstalled.

[ - ] Kozel 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 21:23:00 ago (+0/-0)

you could just $ paru -S --noconfirm proton-ge-custom-bin protontricks bottles protonup-qt and use a secure distro

Tons of pop ups and ads internally now too. The encryption can be annoying at my job.

My idiot IT took over my computer and I saw him delete my bookmarks, history, saved links, etc. and he said he had to to give me my encryption back.

[ - ] HelenHighwater [op] 3 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 13:47:30 ago (+3/-0)

Yep. In my lower left I have a fucking rainbow unicorn, advertising "create AI images for unicorn day". What corporation would want its work...ahh nevermind.

My idiot IT

When tapping incessantly on a screen equates to "Wut do? Nawt werkink!"

[ - ] iSnark 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 12:08:55 ago (+1/-0)

I would say that in-fact, their product has taken massive steps back in their evolutionary process. I'd still rather use Windows 3.11 or Windows NT instead of the monumental cluster fuck that is Windows 10/11!

[ - ] HelenHighwater [op] 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 12:34:09 ago (+1/-0)

I agree. I used NT for a while, and it was solid.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 16:09:53 ago (+1/-0)

NT Workstation 4.0 was my workhorse for 3 years. The hardest thing I had to do was getting an external SCSI hard drive to work. Right now I have DOS 7.1 (chinese dos union???...who cares...it fucking works) and Windows 3.11 in VM and it's solid. ArcaOS / OS/2 works but it's NT 4.0 from back in the day. Once you get it work it works forever.

[ - ] iSnark 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 12:41:16 ago (+0/-0)

Yep, Not the most user friendly at first, but once you understood it, it was awesome!

[ - ] Clubberlang 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 21:28:10 ago (+1/-0)

MS-DOS mah niggaaaa!

[ - ] BrokenVoat 0 points 3 weeksApr 10, 2024 07:26:48 ago (+0/-0)

True win95 cdrom could install windows without issues. Win11 installer crashes when trying to install to drive, refuses to boot after install because fuck
you (no network driver for motherboard).
Installing linux 2024 is like installing win95 was back in the 90s.

I used to run d-base which was the precursor to sql. It ran on your PC in Microsoft dos. It was extremely fast and your data was your own. There was absolutely no lag to wait for the server to respond over the internet.

I remember then I took a job that used Salesforce and after every word you typed there was a lag as the internet waited for the central server to acknowledge what you had typed.

Everything has gotten much slower and the only better thing about it is that the forms look nicer on the screen.

[ - ] dontbeaphaggot 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 15:06:10 ago (+0/-0)

You forget about two factor asstentication

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 16:12:42 ago (+1/-0)

The people I work for have taken two factor ASSacation to the next level. Their plan is to have everything 2FA by the end of the year, including Outlook on the desktop INSTEAD of fixing AD and other outdated software.

Azure AD, Autopilot, Intune, XDR, SOAR, SIEM, all the mfa, exchange improvements, idk sounds like you don't actually know jack shit about enterprise networks, deployment or management at all. Shit was a complete nightmare and learning curve was super high in the 2000s compared to now, especially with windows issues. I haven't really had an unfixable bsod in 18+ years. Win 10 and 11 are far more stable than win xp and 7 ever were, and being able to remotely recover machines is 1000% times better now.

[ - ] RobertJHarsh 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 17:02:13 ago (+1/-0)

But that isn't the problem. If you have a non-M$ hardware firewall put it inbetween you ISP connection and a bare windows 10 install and look at it light up like a fucking Christmas tree. The amount of traffic a fresh install does with IPs all over the planet is insane. They need stability in Windows so they can data harvest you and sell your data to whomever and the government.

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 17:17:13 ago (+0/-0)

I'm not disputing any of the data harvesting, it is worse now than ever. But from a business standpoint, Windows and the cloud systems work better than ever.

[ - ] Kozel 1 point 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 21:25:24 ago (+1/-0)

I haven't really had an unfixable bsod in 18+ years.

You're full of shit. Win10 forced updates demolished existing installations. I made thousands fixing them. Most of them could not roll back and technet advice to sfc /scannow was useless.

[ - ] NoRefunds 0 points 3 weeksApr 9, 2024 21:56:36 ago (+0/-0)

Sounds like you have zero disaster recovery anyway. If the machine couldn't auto repair or even system restore I would autopilot wipe and all their shit would reinstall. Easy as shit. I would never even need to touch the laptop in most cases.

I made thousands fixing them.

I've known a lot of IT consultants like you. You're basically a used car salesmen/veterinarian piece of crap.

[ - ] Kozel 1 point 3 weeksApr 10, 2024 08:03:13 ago (+1/-0)

you

Ok dude. Random guy calls me. Someone I never heard of before. His shits fucked up. I fix it. Guess its my fault for not having disaster recovery for some fucker I've never hard of until he called me. Hey guess what, same week, 10 other fuckers call me with the exact same problem of microsoft fucking up their shit. Guess that's my fault too, for not having disaster recovery configured for random people I've never heard of. Totally not microsoft's fault for having a numer of months where I get calls from random people of windows 10 fucking up their installs. Its my fault.

There were 3 months of random people having their shit fucked up by microsoft due to forced win10 updates. Nothing to do with me. Random new clients looking to google and yelp to have their microshit fixed. All my fault. Not Microsoft's fault. Fuck you.
