Drinking and driving is nice. Now getting drunk and then going driving. That’s not a great idea, but cracking em open in the way home is so nice and relaxing. Zoning out so a podcast or driving through your local beautiful area for a few hours sipping a beer. Nice. The funny think about doing that is as soon as I get home I wish the alcohol would wear off. Once you get home you’re just stupid and drunk

I was stopped by a cop who was drinking and driving. Pretty common practice in general when it was legal.

Back in the 80's I got pulled over quite a bit and they never took me in when they could have. Most of the time they'd say "go home" or they'd take my damn beer. Bastards. I was underage a few times. In all the stupid shit I did back then I'm glad I never hurt anyone. That's all I can say. Here recently they put up a DUI checkpoint in town and stopped me and asked if I'd been drinking and I told them it was a violation of my rights to even stop me and he rolled his eyes like "oh god not anudda one" and told me to go.

I'm Canadian, but our highways suck compared to the Interstates. So between Vancouver, and Toronto, we'd drive through the States.

I can clearly remember my father driving at 140km/hr, drinking a beer, while steering with his knees. Never got pulled over.

There was a drive through liquor store in Grapevine Texas. They would make you a mixed drink and put it in a plastic road cup. I’ve still found a few in the more rural areas.
