I enjoy nothing better than taking something that was created to ridicule Whites and making it our own. The "Yankee Doodle Effect" is when a song that is made to mock an idea or group is then adopted by that group. Besides this song and "Yankee Doodle", "Fortunate Son" is another great example of this effect. Remember this one?:
