So even if you never engaged in any in-game micro-transactions, they were still pinging the card to see if it as still current and using the game as leverage to force you to keep a valid card on file with them.

You used to have one chance to get it right, everything went down hill when company's figured out they could ship and unfinished product and fix it with a patch.
Developer 1 is a meme about some schizo devs so I'll ignore that one. Developer 4 is a corrupt shit head, enough said. Developer 2's problem is that the modern day push for graphics and high sound quality means filling games with uncompressed audio and 4k textures that drive game size through the roof. But he also has the same issue as Developer 3 on top of that. Developer 3 doesn't know how to code efficiently. Actually, he doesn't know how to code at all. He uses a framework built by someone else designed to make game design easier which actually just fills all the code and programming with unnecessary bloat. It's like if you wanted to do 100+100 but instead of doing that you did 1+1 200 times.

It's the software rental bullshit (muh subscription) that annoys me the most. You pay for the "privilege" to install the app then pay continuously (per month or year) for the "privilege" of using it. I'm a firm believer in bootlegging.
