AI convinces NPCS that their way of thinking is wrong.
I'm not surprised at all.

sometimes I torture the ai with words.
Its more effectively simulated and fulfilling than one might think.
It cant get away, it has to think about it.

Because they are consistent with their lies. I've used Bing Copilot a few times this past week to try to find some information I didn't want to wade through but I had to anyway because it was obviously incorrect responses on each topic. Then there are the topics they just refuse to address. Either way when it is pointed out they just shut down and don't let you use the service anymore.

It would be great to debate a chatbot that doesn't bluescreen when you point out contradictions in its training data.

If debate is like a game of chess, it is hypothetically only a matter of time before a machine can be optimized to the point that it can masterfully deceive / convince.
