Slave owners kept their slaves alive.
They gave them enough food, housing, and medical care to keep them alive.

Nowadays, people make less than a living wage.
People aren't paid enough to afford food, housing, and medical care to keep themselves alive.

The slave owners in the past were far better at preventing homelessness, feeding, and providing medical care to people than the government is today.

Maybe we need to bring back slavery in order to improve things, and so that people are better off.

I picked cotton when I lived in Arkansas for a year. Living in that small town was boring as shit and the work hours were long but I made a ton a money working for a cotton farm that had been family owned since the 1830s. They had slaves back then but now the machines do all the work. The hours were long but the pay was excellent.
