Anywhere to run to now that the US is done?

submitted by niggaswaywhat to AskUpgoat 1 monthApr 6, 2024 11:56:19 ago (+1/-1)     (AskUpgoat)

I'd love to retire somewhere now that I'm older. I see the new generations, and I can't help but seem like they hate me for no real reason. And yet, for all the damage in the US, i would prefer not being here when these people snap. Who'se got good ideas?

I have a shit load of land in the mountains of Colombia, so that's my plan if it all goes tits up. I'd have to learn more Spanish, currently all I can do is inquire about the location of the bathroom, order a beer, and call someone a nigger.

Maybe they hate you because you can't write for shit. Either way, this sounds like a weird insecurity issue on your part. People care about themselves, not you. As an old, you should have realized this by now.

I think the way they see it, boomers and older people got in when the going was hot and the new generation feels like they were robbed by us. The thing is many older people paid into their entitlements, so it seems very unfair to have people hate us for something we paid for. Austerity is required due to budgetting issues sure, but i had no part in that.

We only tried to do what was best for the new generation, we tried to be humble, be open to everyone, support the underdog so to speak. I understand most people are inherently narcicistic, but it seems like they have a knack for blaming the older generations for their problems.

In what way? You certainly failed miserably at it.

be open to everyone
This is the crux of the boomer destruction of the country. It is weak minded, it is cowardly, and it is utter folly. Look around you and see the results.

Any of us who did that deserves the blame for current situation.

Stay in the US, up in the mountains. Anywhere else you will be a foreigner.

(((Their))) tech will eventually seek you out in the mountains once all the easy/high-priority targets have been nullified. You have to go somewhere that the tech can't see.

They don't care about some old man in a cabin, they need to control GROUPS. A family on a farm with who knows how many guns is a potential threat. Jeb dying of loneliness in a hut ain't shit.

We hate you for very valid reasons. The boomer generation is truly the wicked generation. Greed, sexual depravity, lust, sloth... truly abhorrent. You sold your own children and grand children into slavery. You are not welcome in society for the sins you have committed.

We didn't sell anyone to anything, all we did is try to instill real world lessons to our kids. When my kids turned 18 i started charging them rent, and the reason was because i didn't like the idea of my kids thinking they would get everything handed to them.

I had a lawn business and i had similar ideas. I held all my contractors civilly liable for any damages. So if they broke something, it was out of their paychecks. At the end of the day, the kids had to be taught the lessons of life

And this is why your children won't speak with you.

[ - ] niggaswaywhat [op] 0 points 1 monthApr 6, 2024 19:30:57 ago (+0/-0)

Because I instilled basic life lessons into them? I was only trying to help them

[ - ] MaryXmas 1 point 1 monthApr 6, 2024 20:40:25 ago (+1/-0)

And did you help them? Or did you pat yourself on the back for neglecting them? Of course you get to talk about what a wonderful parent you were for giving them the hard road.
Because maybe your children are too polite to say it -- go fuck yourself, you might have been a "dad" but you are no father.

My dad did that to me when I turned 16 and got my first job. That was an absolute dick move on his part. My paycheck was probably $70-80 a week after taxes, and he wanted to take another chunk of it. The only lesson it taught me was that no matter how hard you work, there's always going to be an asshole out there taking your money.
