I recently talked to a young German. Comservative proffesional who knows exactly what you are talking about. His final conclusion was that German politicians are either dumbest people on the planet or are purposely trying to destroy Germany using climate change as the means. I told him they were doing it on purpose in every western white nation. He didn't get there completely but didn't disagree with me either

This woman is Pakistani. I'll just note that while India is a polluter it isn't them that has driven this bourgeois consumer lifestyle as an ideal. That this has been the United States is beyond dispute. This stuff soon takes on national security dimensions too. China had to keep up with the US. Then India had to keep up with China.

I'm not sure environmental degradation is as dangerous as weapons development though. That stuff is mostly top secret and again is driven by the US with Russia being the only other real game in town.

Since 1850 the three biggest carbon emitters have been the US, Russia, and China. But even Russia was forced out of its agricultural lifestyle by the West as it had to industrialize to defend itself. So did Japan.
