Actually yes. But no one wants to pay for it because residential homes are generally done as cheap as possible. Also something like 90 percent of all homes don't need it since most people dont live in high seismic regions where you have significant risk levels.

Right, they should market those for hurricanes and tornadoes, since they aren't a local hazard you can avoid. I've watched the videos, so any place with hurricanes or tornadoes is off the list.

I've been through a 7.1 and it wasn't so bad. Only 4 killed in the whole county, and the next one 'here' is now a hundred years in the future. This hurricane season is expected to feature 20 to 25 'named' storms. Destructive earthquakes are a once in a lifetime event at any given location, and they're a relatively 'localized' event.
