Name your favorite song/album from your youth

submitted by Panic to music 1 monthApr 2, 2024 14:53:39 ago (+2/-0)     (music)

My favorite music was the music of the doo-wop era. Most of the singers were black groups. The earliest record I had was a song called Nite Owl by Tony Allen. To this day, nobody matches his strange vocalizations. I still miss this music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOm4hSPLJd4

First cassette was Macarena, first full album was Weird Al's Bad Hair Day on cassette and Astro Lounge by Smash Mouth on CD.

The 90s were cool.

Punkorama was my kids era but I definitely liked that second wave punk/ ska stuff.
My favorite from that era was probably Operation Ivy / Rancid

In absolutely no order at all:

Pantera (No spellcheck, not Panera you corpo:)
ELO
Pink Floyd
Led Zep
Judas Priest
Type O Neg
Depeche Mode
Daft Punk
The Prodigy
Mozart
Iron Maiden
Marylyn Manson
Creedence
Beastie Boys
Alice in Chains
Mussorgsky
Queen
Black Sabbath
TOOL
Metallica

And so on. I liked to listen to a lot of music. I don't listen to much anymore though. Especially once I started to look at titles, lyrics, and actually learned a bit about music, propaganda, and the JQ.

Yeah, realizing that songs are written, produced and performed by jews all the way back before recorded music is depressing.

From my youth, I have to go all the way back to the album, "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

Great selection!

[ - ] RabbiKinderschtupper 1 point 1 monthApr 2, 2024 15:37:41 ago (+1/-0)

Oh man. That's a hard choice.

Sonic Youth - Dirty Boots https://youtu.be/7XdYnh729IQ?si=vUbxMtcZlkTUZdUT

Hum - Stars https://youtu.be/gMEB4HNNZ2I?si=mW4ZIOBDXSeZOC01

Smashing Pumpkins - Siva https://youtu.be/9QUk__7Z3zk?si=f2Y-Asw6uDGMEuRO

I could spend an hour posting stuff probably.

Tripping Daisy - I Am An Elastic Firecracker is a SORELY underrated album. It's awesome all the way through. Violent Femmes debut is one of my all time favorites.

Yeah, I could be here all day.

Sonic Youth's 'Goo' album still echoes in the trash heap of my mind
