When the police were defunded and purged with mandates, I and a few others were there to ensure that at least a piece of our town was relatively safe from those who had chosen or been forced into being a bottom-feeder.
I work for a living. I'm the only halfway sober adult male in my family that stuck around this State. Some of my elderly relatives literally wouldn't be able to afford their mortgages and would lose their homes without the financial security that EBT provides. As for the people I know that work or get welfare and EBT, an extra bag of rice or a couple packages of top ramen with some veggies for nutrition would be an extravagance on their budget.
