I've explained this before, I'll explain it again. Many traditions and practises became sanctified and incorporated into the traditions. Whether it is the Christ fish symbol, Vatican 2 changes, etc. You are also allowed to carry forward your own family traditions (honour father and mother) so long as they do not pose a problem to the message of Christ (no idols, etc, etc). The flowers and chocolate eggs are 99.99999% of the time just meant as a tradition being carried forward and are stripped of any intention to appeal for fertility or worship of pagan deities. That is what makes your objection moot.
