Did "expert" machine that for you?

It could be a specialized bolt that has a thru-stud used to mount something else.

hand drill. started out with a 1/4" drillbit then worked my way up to ....11/16th's? then ran a 10mm 1.5 tap down through it. this photo was taken just before i broke through the bolt head.

i believe its the cummins 8.3 liter in a dump truck. but i always forget the displacement numbers so i could be wrong. i think they called it a brazilian 8.3l. i contort myself up in there. phones are a vast improvement over mirrors for such work.

I bought a cheap otoscope from amazon for my ears, but it ended up being one of the best tools in my garage.

absolutely. i've been looking for one in junk shops for years.
