The fundamental design of the jet aircraft hasn’t changed in 75 years. The traditional tube-and-wing plane has long since passed the point of diminishing returns*.
This innovation, if you could call it that, is fuckin ridiculously old. Commercial aircraft is hinder, not by innovation, but by legislation and regulations. There's no actual good reason for us to be using 50 year old designs other than charging more for a ticket.

BWB design has been around since the 80s and since the 1950s air efficiency of the current design has stalled, the last big change that was made in commercial aviation was to paint everything white, because white paint weights less than other colours.
Cost cutting, efficiency and profit will necessitate the transition eventually.
FAA regulations are the slowest thing in government to change. No way that there will be a complete redesign of aircraft open to the public in the next 6 years. The design in that image doesn't look like it could carry half the passengers of a super maxx.
It needs extend-able and rotate-able canards for take off and landing stability Shorten those for cruise and better areo. That will turn it into a giant Rutan Long-EZ which is impossible to spin.
Composite body like the B757 for lightweight. Should be very low wing-loading. If the lifting body is more fuel efficient then it makes sense but only with the larger airports cause it's as wide as yo mama's ass. Put up LED screens inside mimicking the view to keep the zoo animals entertained.
