How do you go about "getting over" something you ignored entirely in the first place?

A lot of businesses down here just flat didn't play the game. But there were a few that did.

I actually was having fun with it. I'd walk into a store, no mask, heading directly towards exaclty what I was there to buy, and just keep moving.

Mostly they would see 6'4" 240lb White guy and decided that they didn't see anything and there was something else that needed doing somewhere else in the store.

But sometimes I'd see some self-assigned assclown vectoring towards me and I already knew what they were going to say. But I'd just keep walking. I wouldn't stop. I wouldn't turn towards them. I wouldn't engage.

And just as they were getting into range to speak, and opening their mouth, I'd pull the ol' "reverse shape-shift".

I'd stick out my hand towards them and say in a very loud voice, "IT'S OKAY! I'M JEWISH!", and then just keep walking.

It was like hitting their reset button. They'd stop and start pondering what was happening and what that meant, while I just kept walking.
"Wait. What? jewish? But he's a big White guy with blonde hair and blue eyes!? He looks like a recruiting poster for the SS, ffs."
"Can (((they))) do that? Maybe I better ask someone."

Then, if they recovered from my level 1 "jew stun", and started acting like they wanted to make more of an issue, I'd crank it up to "jew level 2".

I would summon up every obnoxious jewish trope I could think of and channel them.

"OMG! HOW DARE QUESTION MY HERITAGE! THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! ARE YOU SAYING THAT YOU DON'T WANT TO DO BUSINESS WITH ME BECAUSE I"M A JEW!? DOES THE ADL KNOW THAT YOUR COMPANY IS THIS ANTISEMITIC! I MAY HAVE TO HAVE SOMEONE CALL YOUR CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS AND TELL THEM WHAT A BUNCH OF ANTISEMITES THEY HAVE RUNNING THEIR STORE DOWN HERE! MY GRANDPARENTS ALL DIED IN THE DEATH CAMPS!..."

And on and on in that vein until I got out the door again. I only ever had to crank it up to level 2 twice. After that, if they saw me again, they left me alone.

It was a fucking ball.

This is very similar to what i did. I used Bluetooth headphones and pretended i didn't hear the Karen's at all until they physically touched me. At which point i would start verbally abusing them for their blatant stupidity while continuing to shop as normal.

I'm 6'3", so I'm sure that helped.

If the store themselves gave me trouble i would leave the approximate amount of money on the counter and just walk out with whatever i wanted.

Sometimes i did it over and over at the same store.

It was really hilarious when they called the cops.

Then I'd bully them too.

"Wearing a mask is an elective medical procedure. You cannot discriminate against someone based on an elective medical procedure. Am i free to go?"

I recorded a lot of these interactions, but jewtube wiped my channel.

I was escorted out of one store because I told the guy I have no intentions of putting a mask on. As he "escorted" me out of the store I told him he was a braindead moron. He replied, "You're lucky I'm working right now." I responded with, "You're lucky I'm not packing right now." That shut him the fuck up.

You're lucky I'm working right now.

Maybe I should have said, "Speaking of work, are you guys hiring?"

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 0 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 13:01:52 ago (+0/-0)

I'm not that worried about Karens because I'm White and I don't have too many problems being around my own kind.
That said, I frequently and blatantly ignore Shaniquas, Basmas, and Martinas.
Only White women I had issue with were nurses at hospitals or doctors offices and I refused to comply - even if that meant I had to leave.

[ - ] Ragnar 0 points 1.2 yearsMar 29, 2024 01:21:40 ago (+0/-0)

I understand what you are saying, but goddamn White women were going crazy back then. They were physically attacking people. And don’t even get me started on the fuckin nurses with their patronising schoolmarm bullshit. Fuck them

I only wore a "mask" once it was for court. They wouldn't let me past the metal detector unless I had a mask. I told them I didn't have a mask. They offered to sell me one for like $2. I told them I'm not paying for a mask. They said I couldn't go in without a face covering. I didn't want to risk missing court. So I went back out to my car. Took the t-shirt off under my sweater and tied it around my head so it covered my mouth and nose. They let me in. The judge didn't say shit about it. Shortly after that was when everything went to zoom court.

A door guard at some box store also told me I needed to wear a mask on to enter the store. I said "I don't have to, I'm jewish" and kept walking. Completely stunned him. I thought I was the only person to pull the reverse shape-shift. Good to hear someone else did it too. I made a thread about it on old voat.

I wish I did this to the Californians. Fucking LOL.

6'4" 240lb White guy

We are the same height and weight!

Also, we need to lose about 15 lbs.

[ - ] Centaurus 2 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 10:45:33 ago (+2/-0)

That depends on your bone structure. I know a guy who is 6' tall, weighs 250 lbs, and he is not fat. He is a scary looking mofo with big-ass bones.

[ - ] TheodoreKent [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 11:01:05 ago (+1/-0)

Sounds like a slav, some of those people are oddly squat and broad.

[ - ] BulletStopper 0 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 13:00:31 ago (+0/-0)

"...we..."

Who is this "we" you speak of. I have a 34" waist.

[ - ] dulcima 6 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 02:16:24 ago (+7/-1)

My state was locked down - particularly the city. For almost two years. EVERYTHING was at a standstill and the city hasn't yet recovered.

And yes, it did affect my mental health. I still get overwhelmed with rage whenever I think about it. The abuse of power was monstrous.

[ - ] TheodoreKent [op] 3 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 08:17:35 ago (+3/-0)

I remember having a drink "in" (outside of) a bar in Philly, in 2020, with a guy who came to Philly specifically to campaign for Biden.

Just drinking, sitting at a small table, not six feet apart. And he stood up to get another drink, and put on his mask.

And I asked him why? He was clearly fine, drinking at a table, unmasked, with a stranger, less than six feet apart. Why does it change when you stand up?

And he got fucking pissed. He did not like me questioning the science. He made up some bullshit about how it was fine to sit outside without a mask, but going inside to order drinks meant you had to wear one.

It was just...

Insane. He was offended over me questioning a rule that didn't make any sense.

Like, really offended. Angry. Like I had questioned his entire identity.

And I feel bad for the guy. I don't hate him, or think he was an idiot. I just think they really got to him.

[ - ] Gowithit 6 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 01:15:33 ago (+6/-0)

Around here it seemed people made it a point to get out more during "lockdown". Its died down since but it was fun then. Good ol' rebellion I guess. Just not enough. Those "stimmies" and extra stamps helped squash that down some sadly.

[ - ] PearofAnguishJuniorManager 5 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 02:25:42 ago (+5/-0)

Lock down was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I fucking loved it. Had a great time, and it continues still with working remote, which was impossible before. Thanks, COVID.

[ - ] Cunty 4 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 03:50:31 ago (+4/-0)

My life continues exactly the same as it always had, I actually got out more with the dogs and it was lovely and peaceful, many people were doing their prescribed(by UK government)20mins a day exercise, I was out for hours, even managed to fit in a new dog and driving 200miles(banned by government, you were only supposed to travel locally) to fetch him. To quote a phrase, "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times", although, personally I thought it was wonderful but I'm not the most sociable kind of person.

[ - ] Nietzsche 3 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 08:02:05 ago (+3/-0)

Wore a mask once to close on my house and leave the cityfied suburbs. It was worth it.

Buying in the country was a no mask situation.

So many near fights to get my groceries because of going any direction I chose down isles with one way stickers.

If it happens again I won't be so nice.

Thankfully the mask issue pushed us to homeschool and we still do.

[ - ] Rowdybme 2 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 08:36:10 ago (+2/-0)

Here in Texas we had some mask bullshit. Some places were closed. But for the most part we could still do whatever.

[ - ] Peleg 2 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 08:10:27 ago (+2/-0)

The place where I work "demanded" everyone wear a mask. Now of course I'm going to be a problem employee, lol. So, I would write shit on a paper towel and strap it around my head. HAHAHAHA!
It made the plant manager so fucking mad! LOL
He finally told us that we could wear gaiters. I started wearing a gaiter around my neck HAHAHAHAHA!
That pissed him off even More.
When it got cold outside I would pull the gaiter up around my face, but only because I was cold. As soon as I came back inside the building, down the gaiter would go.
Fuck everyone that went along with their bullshit.

[ - ] RMGoetbbels 2 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 04:30:12 ago (+2/-0)

No, not really. I didn't stay home but there was no place to go or people to see and that pisses me off.

[ - ] GeorgeBailey 2 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 04:22:26 ago (+2/-0)

Never

[ - ] NaturalSelectionistWorker 2 points 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 03:46:49 ago (+2/-0)

I wore a mask like twice and then said fuck em, kept going to any places that weren't closed down. It did really disappoint me to see 90% of people complying, even some people I thought were based.

[ - ] TheodoreKent [op] 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 08:26:17 ago (+1/-0)

Most people want to fit in.

I don't blame those who complied. It is a really powerful urge, to be a part of the group.

It is also why I don't respect the people on here who reply "what lockdown, we didn't have that here"

Cool bro, real easy to not comply when everyone around you also is not complying.

A little more difficult when you don't comply in a liberal city where 95% of people are doing the damn thing and you're completely alone in disobeying what I thought was obvious insanity.

[ - ] Anus_Expander 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 15:54:37 ago (+1/-0)

I worked all through the insanity. The 90% empty streets were a blessing.

How do you get over something you don't participate in?

It was the best time ever to put a Syrian shemagh, carry a backpack and speak a few words in Arabic. I cant wait to do it again.

[ - ] Indoctrinated_USA 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 12:58:30 ago (+1/-0)

I never locked down in the first place.

[ - ] GreenSaint 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 11:16:08 ago (+1/-0)

I never did anything they told me to do. I just ignored it. People would say you need a mask and I would just not acknowledge them. Man I miss the empty roads. Also it got my work schedule to change which is sweet.

[ - ] bobdole9 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 09:33:04 ago (+1/-0)

I was grateful to visit red and blue states during peak hysteria.

Only the blue states were tyrannical (thanks Whitmer, so glad buying flooring would spread COVID). The saddest part was they won re-election.

So, those who are already "helpless" will keep championing those who offer handouts no matter what.

Can't really fix that.

[ - ] Sector2 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 04:08:22 ago (+2/-1)

Up to 98% wore the mask here. No business or public place would let you inside without it. Local fines ranged from $100 to $500. State fines were $1000. When the "Anti-maskers stormed Trader Joe's", they were in and out before the police arrived.

So I pretty much went 1.5 years without going to stores. Got a lot of deliveries.

Have compromised by buying fresh food at a few local sources, but otherwise avoid any local businesses.

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 1 point 1.2 yearsMar 28, 2024 02:10:39 ago (+1/-0)

I didn't, and I have no idea what other people said about it.
