The submission form at matrix.gvid.tv now strips tracking parameters from youtube links

Because who needs those. Youtube doesn't need to know what sites you post to or what other youtube users are in your internet clique.

The problem is there are people doing tracking besides youtube. So I'll have to expand it as I notice tracking parameters.

If anyone can think of any prominent ones that piss them off let me know.

Also those trackers can help the state dox you because google accounts are often associated with real world identities. That's a pretty serious problem. That a super serious problem for people in Europe where even being on a free speech site could be misconstrued as a crime.

I just expanded it to cover feature,gclid,ab_channel,source,utm_{anything}.

Edit edit: I just added a lot more. More than I can go over, and decided it is ok to apply to more than just youtube. I still can't pretend I'll get all of them though.

VPNs are essential these days. You know what a funny side effect of vpns are though? You change countries and start getting their ads. You can see how fucked they are. Like England where half their ads or more or niggers and race mixers.

uBlock Origins has a list, and several others that you could peruse, if you want to look at pre-made stuff. Ghostary probably has some stuff too. Or other anti-tracking addons/extensions.

That might be a good idea. I did knock out a few google ones. That's what utm{whatever} is and gclid are. But I'm sure uBlock has a better list.
