2 thoughts.

1.The first predator that comes along will enjoy his snack after they get it out of the wrapper.

2. What is the likelihood of all that plastic wrap causing the trees to snap like a toothpick due to all the tension in those thousands of wraps.

3. $500 of saranwrap isn't easy to source and carry.

A $30 axe will do much better for a shelter. And a $200 shotgun, and a man, takes care of the predators.

1. No different than a tent
2. Likelihood is zero as long as you aren't a complete moron.

Your brain is empty of anything of value.

I'm sure there's gonna be plenty of access to unlimited rolls of plastic wrap in a survival situation.

Cool video, cute chick, fun little project, totally worthless.

Once the homeless see this video we are going to walk into woods that looks straight out of the matrix. But with shopping bags.

I'd support that. Some fent addled hobo would fuck up making it and suffocate itself in its sleep. Easier to clean up too since it's already in a bodybag.

We could make it a game. tipping cow style.

I'd play that. Prizes include less druggie homeless degenerates.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen. After OP, of course.

It's a cheap and easy way to get off the ground and shield from the elements. You can pick up the supplies at any grocery store. If you think that's stupid, you must be stupid.

It's not as cheap ad you think that's 50 bucks worth of clingwrap easy

[ - ] TheSimulacra 1 point 1 yearMar 27, 2024 12:19:56 ago (+1/-0)

20-25 bucks a roll at ULine, depending on type of stretch wrap
Its not 2025 yet.

And a tent of that size would likely cost about the same.

Sure, there are lots of things that can be used to build an emergency shelter. Including 80 gauge plastic wrap like in the video. Anyone who's tried to sleep on a trampoline will tell you how the sleeping experience is less than optimal but hey, if it's that or sleep on the ground without cover then sure whatever works.

What's stupid about this is it suggests that someone is going to go camping and forget to pack a tent but remember to pack a roll of shipping grade shrink wrap: "I carry a heavy roll of plastic film with me every time I venture into the woods, just in case." said no one ever.

And don't try to claim that a partial roll of 30 gauge Cling Wrap that a camper might have packed will do it. It would take many rolls of the stuff to accomplish the same thing.

This is the sort of video that appeals to naive idiots. Good luck with that.

Hum, interesting idea.

[ - ] Gowithit 0 points 1 yearMar 27, 2024 12:30:03 ago (+0/-0)

2 tarps and some rope. make life easier for yourself

[ - ] TheSimulacra 2 points 1 yearMar 27, 2024 12:22:20 ago (+2/-0)

I am going to build my own plastic mansion in the forest before the collapse.

If you need shrink wrap afterwards, seek out shipping warehouses.

I'll trade you some for some bottlecaps.

Honest question, who goes into the forests with plastic wrap, let alone enough plastic wrap to make this ridiculous thing?
