That's exactly what they've been doing. The chinks are running a major initiative called Made in China 2025 that seeks technological and industrial independence from foreign countries.

It's a good plan that every nation should follow, but I'm pretty sure that the domestic chinky stuff will still be stolen or derivative tech.

Its not going to matter. The "domestic made" companies will still use them etch off the intel logo then re etched their own logo claming its made in china. They already do this.
