It would be nothing to motorize these using the wheel hub motors on many ebikes. It would probably make the wheels a tad on the heavy side but you could cover some off road ground ... assuming you managed to not twist your knees out. Wipeouts might not end well either.

If the wheels were on the outside there would be less tripping involved with these.
