If you look down on me because my text message appear green, then you are a simple minded idiot. You are using an inferior more expensive product, and you don't even know how or why the message is green. You have the mind of a monkey. If you had it your way the world would be nothing but pain and misery. End your self. Not before shopping around for the perfect casket of course, dont want complete morons thinking you are inferior.
No, I can't tell you why the text messages are green. But I can measure them. I can predict the next and following green messages. I have a very good understanding of it, and that's good enough for me. I'm not distracted by the philosophical side of WHY the text messages are green.
Some Benefits of Android, there is more but I am feeling lazy.
Android phones are cheaper to own outright and they largely rely on USB-C ports for charging and data transfer these days, which is super convenient if you're one of those people who really likes to pack light and carry only one cable.
Also when you plug an Android handset into a Windows PC, you can very easily drag and drop files into folders, as if the device were just another drive.
Some Android phones, like the Galaxy S24 series, even have special PC or display projection features, that let you use view and use your device in a desktop capacity. Samsung's DeX interface is one such example of this. With such versatility, a high-end Android phone could legitimately function as a replacement for one of the best Chromebooks or similarly ultraportable laptops.
It's more customizable.
Android also lets you download third-party replacements for core services — like web browsers, keyboards and media players — and set them as the default versions if you prefer a third-party app to one that was preinstalled on your phone.
Although expandable storage is somewhat less popular these days, some Android phones still offer it.
I am glad that I switched to Android a long time ago. However, one thing that I don't like is that some flagship models no longer have a headphone jack.
What are some other notable concessions that a potential buyer might like to know before purchasing an Android?
I'm sorry...the headphone jack isn't coming back. Just like the removable battery, the physical home button and so many other hardware features, they are past the point of no return with the headphone jack. Not enough people care about it or base their buying decisions on it.
Many of these high end phones are advertised as flexible, multipurpose, studio grade cameras that are equipped with features for content creators. If this is the case, why remove the most ubiquitous interface cable; the ⅛" jack? It was a great feature. They were stereo, too. I know they're trying to save space and cost, but losing that function also bricked some cool portable studio tech that was fun and new. Regardless of how much easier "the cloud" is, the audio jack represented more options and control in the hands of the consumer. Nowadays, you can't run your phone straight into a tape deck, you've got to juggle files to other devices or some other hassle. Perhaps this is minor to many, but it's supposed to be a phone and a studio tool. It's alright, though. For now, I just keep old phones.
Thanks, I’m currently an ifag but am planning on switching whenever the time comes.
I am leaning towards the galaxy s24 (or whatever model), is there any reason I should avoid it? I’ve done some research just seeing what a goat thinks.
galaxy samsung phones are shit riddled with spyware from multiple companies
when you know what's up you only buy phones that support the operating system you plan to flash on them
currently I roll with a pixel 6a which is $120-ish on ebay and grapheneOS. And I do 6 million more things on that phone than you will do on a Somebong Galaxy XXXL 420
I'm in the same season as you I want to upgrade but honestly we are all compromised whenever "Smart" comes into the equation. I have an ifag phone for work and private I just need to bite the bullet and go flip phone and use my desktop on Linux. It's stupidly convenient technology and super cool how everything can integrate but who all has access to it? How much data are they constantly collecting and how the hell is it going to be used? These questions bug the crap out of me.
Edit: bugs to bug because too many can lead to an infestation.
Expandable storage is why I'll not be upgrading my phone any time soon, if at all. I'm not streaming anything (especially audio) and I don't need to subscribe to your hard drive to access my stuff.
I was checking about two weeks ago if not this past week, and I believe there's still a lower-tier Samsung model that offers expandable storage, as well as Motorola, and Sony IIRC.
Option 1 - Use a drastically overpriced and under powered phone that can't have any features, options, or abilities unless they're simple enough for a 90 year old grandmother to understand.
Option 2 - Support a Jewish owned and controlled company and give Mossad access to your entire life.
Been using graphene os and ever since, I don't get mysterious ad's in my inbox advertising shit that I talk about. Seriously, look into a privacy OS, they are stupid-simple to install. I used the web installer yesterday on a pixel 6a I bought and it took me all of 10 minutes. I recall the days when you had to root the OS, install busy box, fast loader, blah fucking blah ..not excuse not to be using a privacy OS nowadays. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qruzL9IdUr8
I always had Android phones. My first smartphone was a Galaxy S1. Rooted and flashed many phones with cyanogenmod and custom kernels. I got a used iphone a year ago. Out of the box experience is generally better than any Android phone I’ve owned aside from a couple of the Chinese brands like ZTE and Huawei. ASUS phones were pretty good too. The iphone is limiting if you’re a power user and need to interact with your saved files, but otherwise it’s a very smooth user experience. Different customer base. The average normie would do better with an Apple product. They don’t use 95% of an Android phone’s capabilities.
Would you take an ASUS phone over Samsung? I've only used ASUS motherboards on my desktop builds, so I know the brand doesn't suck...I've just had Samsung since I moved to smartphones.
Depends on the price segment you’re looking at. ASUS doesn’t make phones that are competitive with top end flagship Samsung, Apple or Huawei phones. I haven’t kept up with the recent ASUS models but they were very competitive in their price range when I owned them. I liked the first one I owned enough that I got another ASUS phone a year later. Usually I change brands whenever I get a new phone.
i'm all-in on the apple ecosystem... you might even call me an "ifag" or a "ifanboi" or some other perjorative. IDC. i'm loyal to my brands and your phone sucks.
I guess you are out of the loop. Apparently kids get made fun of for having green text messages. Women will stop talking to men they are interested in if they receive a green text message back. Basically people are idiots.
Oh, absolutely. I’ve heard of it and certainly believe it. But that’s just dysgenics in action. Since corporate branding began, this behavior has existed. It’s not unique to technology.
I love the DOJ’s suit against Apple. It’s the most incompetent piece of shit I’ve seen in a long time. They have no goddamned clue what a monopoly is. They’re arguing the (identical) equivalent of “Wal-mart must be forced to sell Target brand goods in their stores.” I’d say it would be laughed out of court and the judge would demand criminal reparations, but we don’t have courts anymore.

Top of the line Samsung devices are definitely superior. And some of them can be rooted and take lineageOS. If you completely wipe a Samsung phone and replace most of the default apps with open source apps out of the f droid store, that seems to work even better than lineage from my testing.
The reason is iMessage. It is different than standard SMS messaging (which all phones use). iMessage works through the internet, with iphone only. If you use an iphone and receive a standard SMS message, it's green instead of blue.
