During the plague, over 95% of all Europeans died within 7 miles of the house they were born in, and couldn’t read. Which made the merchant Jews the only people that could have possibly physically spread something like that. And without media or newspapers, every European had stories of Jews poisoning their well.
And to prove it wasn’t unintentionally just some rats. Almost all Jews in Europe lived in Poland at the time, and what do you know, the plague just happened to skip Poland…

Put another way the Zios who were pulling the Pope's strings, who had brought the rats whose fleas carried the disease from China in an exercise in white genocide, prepped the ground by importuning Gregory IX to get rid of the cats that might indeed have interdicted the diseased rodents and stifled the spread of the malaise.
