Maori didn't get to nz in any numbers until the 1300s.

Diaries from the "Endeavor" also state the majority of NZ had been burnt when they found it. Maoris would start forest fires as a hunting method.

They still eat endangered/protected species today, and are notorious for plundering sealife just for funsies.

The Maori arrived later than that, after 1200. Some sources even say 1400.

Incidentally, there's propaganda going on in Europe, England especially, to promote the idea that whites are not indigenous because their ancestors arrived blah blah. So they are not indigenous, which means infinity third world immigration.

And yet the Maori, a latecomer in every sense of the word, is indigenous to New Zealand.
