Thank the (((Dodge Brothers))) who successfully sued Ford, when Henry Ford wanted to pay better wages to their employees. Dodge stated a corporation's only responsibility is to deliver profits to shareholders.

Was looking for this comment. Once a company goes (((public))) their sole and only priority is to shareholders. If (((blackrock))) determines that the company is worth more if its employees are ran through a wood chipper and sold as fertilizer, they would do it instantly

The employees might have something to say about that!

That must be where the saying "get out of Dodge" originated. 👨‍🏫

Dodge City, Kansas, specifically from events from 1870s Dodge City.

That sounds dodgy.

It's almost like history rhymes.

This is why we hate capitalism and think christ sucks!

You should be hating communism and Mohammed.

Another reason it's so weird that people beg to be enslaved by them.

What are they, a fucking charity? Shop around. It's like going to a store that charges too much for food and complaining they charge too much.

More like a store that burned down its competitors.

Unlimited immigration is fucking over the labour market and driving up housing costs.

The only way to get paid properly is to go 1099, work for yourself, or find a new job. Employers are brain dead and don't realize they could save the thousands of dollars spent on turnover by giving raises instead.

they could save the thousands of dollars spent on turnover by giving raises instead.

Assuming they aren't being lead to destruction on purpose.

Nah I don't think so. There are some egotistical motherfuckers who take it personally

[ - ] CoronaHoax 1 point 1 monthMar 20, 2024 12:11:19 ago (+2/-1)

Capitalism solves this best.

Every system can and will be subverted.

[ - ] GeorgeBailey 0 points 1 monthMar 20, 2024 04:43:49 ago (+0/-0)

Okay commi.

Can't pay "you" more maybe. If you're not growing with the company I suggest reflect on yourself. Each roll has a cap. You can't pay a janitor 200,000 a year just because your making profit. Apply for higher up positions. Grow yourself.

[ - ] taoV 2 points 1 monthMar 20, 2024 07:40:48 ago (+2/-0)

Do you think 9 in 10 of your people are worth anything at all? Do you believe they are, collectively, capable of perfoming at an above average level compared to every other demographic group? If you did, your answer to this wouldn't be that they should just "grow harder".

Something like <9% of jobs pay 100k or more. Telling your own people it's their own fault they don't achieve that, full stop, immediately sets 9/10 of them up for failure before you even factor in the brown hordes being given preference.

I get that you're a corporate guy, and might feel that healthy compeition has rewarded you well, but the answer isn't to cut each others' throats while we're replaced. It's to demand a system of real merit, and fight the wealth hoarding that they then use to pit us against each other. That is the only way that all our self improvement and innate quality can ever be fairly rewarded. Healthy competition only exists in a healthy system.

And if you're tempted to come back with some "boo hoo millennial avocado toast" line, I've been self employed for almost two decades. I can make this analysis beacause I don't have to use some suit's jizz as mouthwash.
