People shouldn't run for office, that shit should be selected at random.
Like some blue collar plumber gets tapped one day to serve, his bills and current livelihood should be taken care of but that's it. He does his service as an American for two years, and then goes back to his trade.
Fuckin lawyers should be systematically exempt from this kind of service. Also, all campaign funding should be outlawed. Nobody should be allowed to serve any branch longer than four years, regardless of foreign wars
Lobbyists should be stood against a wall and executed like feral dogs. They should have a bounty on their heads, and I'm ready to start a GoFundMe to make that happen.
I no longer think term limits will solve anything. As long as you have lobbyists and lots of money and no insider trading laws for reps... term limits will just make the revolving door spin faster. More faces will come and go and things will be harder to track, but the system will still be broken.
Term limits are probably part of the solution, but without also removing the 'levers of power' that are used to influence corrupt politicians, nothing will change.

They are the REAL problem, the reason for the current critical mass level of corruption.
Any affiliation with stock markets, relatives getting bullshit salaries, sales of "art", etc must also be grounds for traitor charges.
