Starting my seeds, finally.

A couple of weeks later than I normally start, but better late than never. Danger of last frost is May, so still some good growing time until then.

Quick spray of peroxide will keep the mold down.
Keep'em good and warm so they pop fast.
We started super hot peppers back in Dec because they run 280 days to fruit.
Scorpion,Ghost and Habanero hybrid crosses for the pain gain.

I haven't had that issue yet, but it's good to know a remedy if it does occur. Thanks.

Do it as a preventive measure and it also softens the hulls

I need to do that too! Thanks for the reminder...

On the subject of seeds, there's a small company called Pepper Cave at https://peppercave.com/home

The guy running the company is often on Gab naming the jews and doesn't give a shit about what jews cry about to him on Gab. It's kind of funny to see sometimes. Oh, and he does sell seeds and seasonings as well.

I just got mine in the ground a few minutes ago. I'm excited for brussel spouts. No one else in the family likes them, so they are all for me.

We haven't planted the last few season. I decided if we keep it simple and go full anarchy on the sowing it will be worth it. I just mixed all seeds in a bowl and cast seeded two raised beds. Assorted salad greens, carrots, beats, brussel sprouts, romain.

I have better success inflating the bag. Seeds need air.

[ - ] texasblood 0 points 1 monthMar 18, 2024 19:26:32 ago (+0/-0)

Not to germinate they don't.
Air is what causes mold before the seeds pop

Air is not what causes mold, that is absurd. And seeds absolutely need air as soon as they are not dormant, well before they pop.

Anyone can test this for themselves quite easily.

7700 Sq green house

32yrs in business local
I'm sure your so much well versed in propagating.
Seeds under ground have no air to germ or roots.
Third set of foliage takes in sun light not oxygen.
You go right ahead fella.
Our business doesnt need to be right,we produce and that's all the locals bother with cause we sell out every year.

Seeds under ground have no air to germ or roots.

Read a basic horticulture book. This is just sad.

No need, viable oxygen is not used WITHOUT FOLIAGE to process it.

[ - ] canbot 0 points 1 monthMar 19, 2024 17:12:41 ago (+0/-0)

First off foliage produces oxygen and uses CO2. Second, the seeds need oxygen to process sugar to grow the foliage in the first place.

Still don't need oxygen to germinate FFS.
MOVE ON ASS HAT
YOU WIN NOTHING HERE

Seeds need oxygen to turn the sugar stores they have into the plant matter they become. Read a fucking book dumbass.

I hope you have heirloom seeds. :)

[ - ] AugustineOfHippo2 [op] 1 point 1 monthMar 18, 2024 14:33:35 ago (+1/-0)

None are hybrids. All open pollinated. Some purchased, some collected. Not "officially" heirloom, but close enough.

Got mine in. A homegrown yellow Kellogg breakfast tomato is the best I have ever had. It is snowing still but the greenhouse is already full..
