She probably has a bullshit job that she doesn't want to admit she doesn't want to go back to. I actually believe working in bullshit jobs (like govt pen pushers) undermines your mental health over time. And in the 21st Century most jobs serve neither man nor beast and the world will be better off without them.
For years my mom talked about going back to work. I have no idea why she took so long since I was the youngest and I was already doing my own laundry, getting myself where I needed to go and making my own food.
But, finally, when I was almost out of the house she went back to work
and complained the entire time, then quit after a few months.
In her entire life she maybe worked for two years.
My father was doing pretty well and my mom never went without. Still she complained fucking constantly.
"But what about mine? I sacrificed all those years to get here, to help pay off his debt, to be mindful about money because he never is. I have patiently waited for him to grow up, figure out what he wants to do, and carried extra while he went back to school. And this is the thanks I get?
Well, she didn't "resent" her husband when her legs were spread wide open! Her problem, like many women, is that she can't think past today! Bad things are already happening, and worse things are on the horizon! I'm sure, he's not just being a "Dick", he's looking out for his family! What if he loses his job? Then what? The American government has turned its back on the American people! There is no longer an escalator, moving people forward, like there was in the 50's. Today, it's an absolute crap shoot! If she loves her son & husband, she should return to work and look for a Remote/WFH position!
