A few months ago after my consumer grade washer quit, I paid $1300 for a Speed Queen. No energy star rating. Two knobs and two buttons. Just like grandma had, and, the lid doesn’t lock.

Read a few stories about Chinese appliances that connect specifically to Chinese servers and share tons of data. Like a particular vacuum, or even DJI drones allegedly send data to Chinese owned servers apparently everywhere.
