I fucking get mildly psychotic and morbidly agitated at most of these music posts, particularly the
✡ouTube clips, except for the odd one that I post...BUT...Chris Rea anytime...a little story about this tune...1991, mid Feb, a few hundred miles off the Caribbean coast of Colombia...I'm in the company of a retinue of very serious "power brokers" at a high end resort owned by a European car maker, they've got one half of the discotheque, including lounge area and it's bar, exclusive to them, and we're not drinking, smoking or nosing, nobody's even smiling for that matter...the fucking dames they bought to accompany them, 2-3 to 1, none under 6ft, all legs and ass and drop dead gorgeous, all from Rio, blonde and brunette and they were well "mannered"...after all matters are addressed I put this disc in, Road to Hell brought out the best of everyone that night...but those dames were exceptionally well put together and they had a healthy appreciation for "serious men" , "classy trash" that blows away most North American broads...thanks for triggering that memory.....FAGGOT

Like you wouldn't go back to that night if a rift in the time space continuum opened up right next to ya, and took you there and de-aged you to the age you were on that exact night...

Besides, I blame @Indoctrinated_USA, yeah, I'm going to throw him under the bus like that! It's his fault for making you remember "6ft, all legs and ass and drop dead gorgeous" HE recommended the song. ;-)

And I'd do it again...
That song has had a profound and enduring presence in my life since I was a boy.

THIS is what life is about! Thank God that we had the good times we had, can't wait for the pendulum to swing back in the other (based) direction!

@iSnark...thinking about my past is a killer...of course I'd go back...but at least the memories aren't far away...but again, those Brazilian dames were killer gorgeous...and here's another loveable asset they had...they loved to eat and feasted big time with us, and, like me, and the other guys, they loved raw garlic...we had 2 "sucklings" as the main course, along with shrimp, lobster, snapper, the sucklings were slow fire cooked, 10hrs, that fucking meat jiggled it was so tender and when eating it every fork full of pork is stabbed into the garlic bowl, a wood bowl (looked like a pharmacist mortar), best food ever...that bowl never had a crumb of garlic left after we were done, no garlic odour when everyone's eating it...fuck those were the days.

Pig-roasts were popular in the 80's in my circle, I wonder why we don't still do those.

Talking to you makes me think that we've done a real disservice to ourselves by not staying connected to our old friends. I guess it's one of those things where life sort of gets in the way! But, you are correct, we still have the memories.
