His legs give out and is pinned overnight. The bodybuilders come back and prop him up for another day of lifting...ultimately broke enough bones (might have been his pelvis, been awhile since I've seen it) where he has to "rest for six months".
Overall a good lesson: don't get arrogant when lifting weights.
Before COVID I was a member of Anytime Fitness. It's awesome going to the gym at midnight and usually be the only or one of a few there at any given time.
Try 5:30pm on a weekday and you're going to have a bad time.
BowFlex do work when used consistently. I topped out at 450 machine limit for 2yrs and then went to free weights. Strength maintenence and BJJ/boxing keep you on your toes healthy.

Reguardless of home gym or not, go and acquire a pair of Fat Gripz if you've hit a plateau or just want better forearms and far better grip strength.
Glad you cut out before his legs buckle.

A personal home gym can start with just a pair of dumbell bars and be built up over time.

The compact gym I can do 8 machines in about 25 minutes. Planet fitness because it’s packed and spread out I can do like 4 machines in 25 minutes.
The time lost walking around and waiting for machines is significant.
