Interviewed a young man today

submitted by TheOriginal1Icemonkey to whatever 1.3 yearsMar 7, 2024 01:34:19 ago (+11/-2)     (whatever)

Dude is approaching the glass doors to our building, right on time, and Mrs. Icemonkey sees he has long hair, like “hair farmer” long and she moles out around the corner saying, “I’m not doing this”. I approach him, introduce myself, shake his hand, thank him for coming in and then I say, “are you thinking you’re gonna work here with that hair”? He says, “yeah, it’s too long, I’ll get it cut”, so we proceed to the interview.

Seemed to be an alright dude overall. Not the kind of person I would normally associate with, but he was honest in the interview Nd wasn’t retarded. Although he did admit to being a gay er and a D&D player, not to my surprise as he looked the part in every way. But he’s White and we need people.

We'll probably call him back

If it was a black man and you wouldn't hire him because of his afro he could sue you these days for some kind of ethnic cultural discrimination.

So why you getting down on a white guy with his Viking hair?

Yeah help him out, if he's got hair like that and plays d&d, he doesn't have a strong male role model in his life.

I had one of my old bosses tale me under his wing when I was 22. I quit that job 10 years ago, I still talk to my boss almost everyday, really like an older brother to me.

For what sort of position are you hiring for?
In My machine shop I would probably not allow long hair for safety reasons.

Retail.

I just spent the last week in interviews after a career fair. The pickings are slim. This is a construction and engineering career fair and 75% of the construction majors have never stepped foot on a job site. They walk by and don’t make eye contact, slouched over, with about as much testosterone as my dog who had his balls cut off at 12 weeks (adopted, not my choice). If long hair but White is a deal breaker, then you’re going to be in for a bad time

What's the deal with long hair? My hair is like 15" at least, but I keep it up and neat and tidy most of the time. If God wanted us to have short hair it wouldn't grow so long.

You should call him back. Dudes probably been thinking about cutting it anyway.

Long hair is a combat detriment. It is also not a good idea when working with anything physical. Therefore, for men, long hair is a sign of weakness and femininity. This is an insight into the mind behind the face begging for your money.

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 6 points 1.3 yearsMar 7, 2024 05:17:25 ago (+6/-0)

Hand to hand combat, I'll agree. But I do physical labor in the form of building cabinets, and I've been a tile guy too and it's never been a problem. I just tye it up and put on a hat.

I dunno, maybe there's a spiritual aspect of it for me. We have hair for a reason, just as valid of as reason that we have eyes and ears. I've spent years where I kept it short, but as I get older it just feels right keeping it long.

Long hair is a hazard with many machines. Particularly lathes and mills. There's a video of a dumb girl trying to eat corn with a hand drill and it catches her hair and rips off some of her scalp.

[ - ] PeckerwoodPerry 3 points 1.3 yearsMar 7, 2024 06:28:02 ago (+3/-0)

I get that, but only if you let it hang. You can tie it up though, or sometimes I'll get my wife to braid it up. I always wear a hat while working too, so that's redundancy when it comes to safety.

All I'm saying is that it shouldn't be a disqualifier if the person keeps their shit right. If they keep it messy, yeah that's a problem and it's a red flag about the person in general, but dudes can definitely keep long hair neat and tidy.

I believe the best argument against having long hair is that if you lost a battle it made it easier for your enemy to walk around parading your decapitated head.

Long hair it is!

[ - ] bobdole9 3 points 1.3 yearsMar 7, 2024 08:36:14 ago (+3/-0)

“are you thinking you’re gonna work here with that hair”?

You should know better..."can't discriminate based on hair" (thanks niggers) like you can't discriminate based on age.

On the other hand, you might be the change the neckbeard needs to grow up.

I don't envy CA business owners.

Wrong. You can have a dress code and a hygiene code. We also don’t accept visible tattoos.

Crown laws are now a thing is all I'm saying. Makes complete sense if you're working with any form of power equipment.

[ - ] DivineLight2 1 point 1.3 yearsMar 7, 2024 04:57:30 ago (+1/-0)

My hair is slightly receeded now, so I keep it short and tight. I had long hair in my younger years, never cost me a job. You can only have long hair once as a man, I less genetically blessed.

When I was hiring in my old job, I always looked for presentation. Suit or at least blazer, no trainers. No neck/face tats and no nose rings. That was it.

Hope it works out well. He'll probably be a bit leftist due to d&d.

call him back after he had a haircut and then teach him good manners

[ - ] Atlo 4 points 1.3 yearsMar 7, 2024 04:48:07 ago (+4/-0)

What do you mean? If the lad arrived right on time for the interview and was honest throughout it - seems like good manners to me.

And the long hair - I honestly don't understand what's so bad about long hair. If I could grow mine, I would.

Interesting approach.
Realistically though if your fighting against other Whites - they should have the honor to not use underhanded tactics.
If your fighting against niggers - they don't have to mental capacity to fight smarter than ''swing your arms around''. :D

Although the chances of fighting 1vs1 are actually low...

I see your point...
Still - if I could have hair like Lorenzo Lamas - I would consider the cost.

Another thing is - not everyone can be a warrior-poet.
Should be. But then again - everyone should be many things.

A long haired artisan, if nothing else, is good for envoking envy in puff-haired schlomos and pavement apes.

If you are not working around rotational machinary the only detriment I see is that it clogs drains.
