I know it means you dont have to pay yearly property tax the county has no leverage

It means you own the land and pay no property tax.

There may still be some places you can do that.

It's probably just easier to make a "church" and live it.

Alloidial land is property that is owned without fee or payment.(basically sovereign)
In the US, land is subject to eminent domain by federal, state and local government and subject to the imposition of taxes by state and/or local government. There is thus no true allodial land. (wikipedia) Just ask that guy in Independence MO about his eviction for non-payment of taxes.

Once upon a time in the USA, people actually donated property to the Gov't so they could be blessed with a ROAD adjacent to their property... Pretty sure it beat the hell out of taking a buckboard wagon across some indian game trail.

once upon a time the government used to be afraid of the people and we had liberty.

As I understand it (and tbh, i don't understand it), it is basically a mechanism by which you own the property without tax requirement. Similar to the way that churches don't need to pay property taxes on the buildings they have title to, if you had "allodial title" over your house, you would not be subject to property taxes with the town. Not sure how this could ever be possible

Never heard of it before but Wikipedia has an entry and a search will bring up a lot of YouTube channels describing it
