Mad Max 2: Road Warrior—First Time Watcher

submitted by dingbat to movies 2 monthsMar 3, 2024 00:55:19 ago (+18/-0)     (movies)

I’m not the biggest action movie fan, but I saw this movie for the first time last weekend and was completely blown away by how cool it was. To think it came out in 1981 is absolutely insane. The special effects looked about a million times better than any of the lame CGI that perpetuates movies of today. Mel looked insanely handsome and knowing how much he hates jews made the movie more enjoyable. I was bummed out when his dog got killed, but seeing the faggot adversaries in assless chaps die in the most violent ways at the end made up for it (even though I was watching through my fingers covering my eyes at times lol). That little feral kid was pretty cool too. I give this movie an enthusiastic 4 out of 4 stars.

Killer flicks. I just got done watching Starship Troopers for the 109th time. If you haven't seen it I highly recommend it. Plenty of T&A too.

I can't watch modern movies, the CGI gives me an uncanny valley headache. Those older movies are the tits though.

I’ll try Starship Troopers, Perry. Thanks for the recommendation! I have been trying to watch older movies I’ve never seen. I also watched ‘Star 80’ with Eric Roberts and Muriel Hemingway which was also really good. I’ll be posting on the true story behind that movie soon because it got me so steaming pissed. Of course it involves a sleazy jew.

The first road warrior (Mad Max) was excellent as well. The movie was made on the extreme cheap and although cheesy at times and not as good as RW2, young Mel Gibson fits that role perfectly and makes it what it is.

That's one of my favorite films. Dad introduced me to the whole trilogy when I was 6 years old. Fun fact about the final chase sequence: The stuntman who flipped head over heels when thrown off his motorcycle ended up breaking both his legs, but the producers still used the footage because of how awesome the shot was.

Love it when scenes are enhanced by real injury.

Remember Araogorn's pained reaction on "failing" the hobbits in The Two Towers? That was Vigo Mortensen breaking two of his toes when he kicked that helmet.

Give Beyond Thunderdome a try. However, you might not be a fan of 'Auntie'

Old movies are the way to go. Jaws is fantastic. Even poltergeist. The parents are in love and the kids respectful. Leery of the big business etc. The good old days

Pity the effects in Jaws are so bad

There is a certain charm in that and the special effects are not the main part of the film. It's about people, relationships and community life.

The new one fury road is good too.

You should watch blazing saddles. Funny a movie made by jews banned by jews.

One thing in Beyond Thunderdome irked me a bit. The flyer with the gyrocopter in Road Warrior ends up with the survivors on the bus going north to a better place. But in Beyond Thunderdome, he's back and now has a small plane and a son but no woman. Makes no sense why he's back at all. Otherwise, a pretty good movie. Best part for me about Beyond Thunderdome is the children living in the hidden valley. I want to live like that.

Because Beyond Thunderdome was not a mad max sequel. Just a previously purchased script revised to cash in on the mad max franchise.
