I've spent so much time with so many people in churches, mosques, and temples of worship. I've heard so many different arguments and viewpoints that I've begun to discern central cores of thought that irritate me so much that I have told some people off to their face, in front of people that they love, because I know exactly where their behavior is going to end up, with near acute certainty. If I were to spend any time around them while they were exposing their viewpoints to me, I would have demanded they fuck off or get exactly what consequences that they want. It's kind of lead to this almost callous but cautious outlook on life that some true people understand is hard to maintain given all the bullshit around everywhere at any given moment.

And then you just get older. Friends and family die off, some celebrating that they injured their own health without thinking through the consequences. Now, I'm just at the point where I stay silent and don't even care anymore. If they want to die any faster, that's fine by me, but it doesn't have to be me who has to get in front the of the same bullet. At the end of the day, I can warn people that they're driving themselves towards a brick wall, but I can't slow them down or take the brick wall away. Don't expect me to look at you crash or burn.

A couple of days ago, a friend of mine had to run out of town for an unexpected trip. I've been watching his dog, and it's been a lot of fun seeing my dog playing with it. He'll be back in a couple of days, and I did someone else a favor. I can at least try to make the world a better place one day at a time.
