Hello, Upgoat and curious flattards! In this inaugural post, we answer @BushChuck's question[1]:

"Care to explain why a compass still points North in australia?"

The paper is flat like Earth, but the magnetic lines are curved giving the false impression that the Earth is circular.

If you can't understand why the example you posted isn't at all remotely close to reality you're a retard dude. If the compass can work sideways next to your bar magnet, why doesn't it work sideways on the spherical earths bar magnet that passes through its axis?

It's only you saying it doesn't, clown. As long as the needle is free to move in the direction of the field, the orientation doesn't matter. If you were to face magnetic North and hold it perpendicular, then it would not work.

I could buy a bar magnet and compass, stick it in a ball, and post video proof, or you could do the same, but what would be the point, given above?
