Just. You forgot to say "just". That makes it zero steps instead of twenty.
Just compile and just install from trusted source you just search and just research it for trustability, it's not hard. If you're too lazy for that, just search for and then just download a precompiled tarball and then just look at the tarball on your drive- as there is just no further instruction given or needed.
Fucking hell, it's not that complicated. Most common shit like browsers will have a package. In this case:
1. Open your package manager. 2. Find the program you want. 3. Double click/hit install.
Compiling from source, which normies will almost never need to do:
1. Find the source on github. A trusted source is the person/company that wrote the fucking program. Use forks at your own discretion. 2. Download and extract. 3. Open terminal and type the relevant command and parameters for your distro.
Extracting and running a precompiled program:
1. If the author has one, download and extract. 2. Run the executable.
Only download precompiled shit from original author, because you have no idea if the code is maliciously modified.
Or use the package manager. One simple command or GUI interaction. Beats finding an MSI from a trusted source on the web. Making sure you spelt the website perfectly to avoid being phished with a dodgy MSI. Then remembering to untick the hidden checkbox to install the bundled mcaffee trial
Linux is significantly easier to configure than Windows. I don't know why people get the opposite idea.
If you can't find a nice button for it in Windows 11, good fuckin luck hacking the registry. That's worse than anything Linux makes you configure.
The main thing that makes Linux harder to use than Windows is manufacturers support Windows, and they don't support Linux. Therefore it's more likely someone tested the hardware with the software before you got there.
Then you have to: apt-get clean rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/* apt-get clean apt-get update apt-get upgrade Because the install didnt work for no damn reason.
Two of those install commands would install the snap package, and the other would install the flatpak package. If the snap package doesn't work just uninstall it and use the flatpak package or vice versa.
In windows you have to use a browser to install a different browser. In linux you just open up terminal and type a few words. Windows users aren't the brightest.
That rumble you're hearing in the distance is every linux dweeb on the site "running" (well, as fast as they can with their moobs flying to and fro, and special sneakers from the podiatrist will allow) to the comments section to write walls of text about how easy linux ahhhtchshooualliey is to use. SAD!

mkdir -p viper-browser/build && cd viper-browser/build
cmake ..
Make
You can probably find some details on stack overflow to get your tools and libraries configured.
But don't be such a pussy, just remember the bytes browsers send out and send those directly to the network card manually
