Went inside the local library for the first time in a couple years

Stopped in to pick up tax booklets and decided to stroll around a bit. I was not surprised at what I saw.

- "Black history month" table that didn't even have any books on crime statistics
- A purple haired feminist at the front desk
- Fat woman at the desk in nonfiction/reference area
- A middle aged faggot working the desk in (surprise!) the children's section
- Rest of the employees were niggers
- Bulletin board by entrance with various flyers for free gibs
- Very few people in the library
- Fat, depressed-looking guy playing browser games on one of the computers

Obviously people read physical books less these days, but I was surprised that overall the stacks seemed barren. Along one major section of wall the shelves had been removed. In the fiction section the bottom one or two rows on all the shelves were empty. One area that used to have bookshelves was now empty except for a couple tables.

Libraries used to be a great place to hang out for an afternoon, whether as a kid or as an adult. Now I can't say I'd be sad to see any of them close.

20 years ago I was dating a mulatto that not only could swim - she was a life guard, swim teacher for young children, and on the college swim team - but also could READ - she was a librarian student! Well, she was adopted (by Whites) and didn't meet her birth mother until after she left me because I wouldn't get married and have kids right out of college while we still had student loans and just was making my life hell instead of supporting me in the relationship (I was struggling finding work in a saturated city until just a few months after she left me, by which time I was making $40 an hour and she was working in a Borders book store because she left the area even though she had a job at the local public library making nearly $20 an hour with benefits). Anyway, while she never met her father - even though she found out he lived less than 2 hours away from her, but he's a black male - turns out her mom was living in San Francisco in a lesbian relationship with a bulldyke. I can just imagine what life would be like if I was still in a relationship with her.

Saw basically the same thing when on Christmas vacation. Took my mom and my niece to the library. My mom had to return some stuff and get more books and I signed my niece up for a card.

Used to go to the library with friends in the mid 90s and "surf the net" - random geocities pages, looking up game guides and hints for miscellaneous pc games we were playing, etc. Good times. For awhile using the color printer in the computer room was free - we definitely took advantage of that.

Browsing the internet in the 90s was so fun - you actually browsed. Once faceberg and jewtube game along the internet as we knew it slowly began to die. It's such a top heavy pile of shit now. At least we have voat/talk/upgoat/whatever the fuck it's called now.
