I don't think Christians tend to refrain from condemnation; I think Christians are extremely vocal in condemning the things they dislike. The problem concerns the way theology affects their theorizing. When you believe that what is essential to human beings is an immaterial soul that is created by God, all of the inconvenient facts related to biology and behavior become secondary. The Christian is reluctant to make racial claims, because this just isn't the right level of analysis for them. Everything gets sucked into the moralizing scheme of good versus evil; a member of race X, when he commits a crime, is not behaving like an X. Instead, he is behaving in an evil way. You must speak to the evil, not to the X-facts.

Their God was betrayed by Judas as a central aspect of the gospel story. Being betrayed and destroyed by humans in order to do God's will is seen as a virtue. If you stated your worry to most Christians, and they conceded that you were right about the futility of their actions (in terms of changing behaviors), that very futility would increase the moral worth of their efforts.
