CB frequencies are niggered out with skip talk that bleeds into the upper and lowers these days. We use VHF for local most often but there are others you have never heard of. Sat phone hard core and can't be beat for global direct dial on a quite line

I can still mod one and reach many miles but that would be very illegal and I'm not gonna discuss that here with you, son.
Any advice on equipment? Or a good resource to learn about it? I'm a complete noob when it comes to radio shit, but I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron or a linux terminal.
