Just pick through the pages to Paul’s letters to the Corinthians where he tells them that their women shouldn’t speak in church and that they should wait until they get home to ask their husbands a question they might have. When that’s how the church was telling men and women to behave then how would they allow a woman to be invoked in other shit somewhere else? They wouldn’t. actually aside from the mentioning of the annunciation by the gospels and the story of young jesus getting lost and later found out asking questions at the temple and mary being one of the witnesses of his death and resurrection and being there at pentecost. there nothing much else being said about mary.

because the gospels fpcus only on jesus and his disciples. joseph was even dropped out after he came back with jesus from egypt to nazaret. he totally disappears from the story altogether
