This is not a standard "not here" 404 response. They have a cutesy logo for that.

This simple text response is most likely a result of the image intentionally being blocked.

I encounter this behavior more frequently with CatBox as time goes on.

This is why I have begun posting content to multiple alternate locations for a while now.

Some other content hosts you might try include:

https://pomf.lain.la/ - HUGE file size. Up to 1GB. Accepts multiple file formats similar to CatBox.

https://imgbb.com/ - Images only.

https://videy.co/ - Good for small videos.

https://qu.ax/ - Multiple file formats accepted. Generous file size limit of 256MB.

https://void.cat/ = Only good for images. Haven't run into a file size limit. CONS: Will let you upload other types of content and none of them work. Will say it's in maintenance mode.


Also, @x0x7 has a site, the name of which eludes me presently.

Could have sworn I saw some custom 404 from them previously and, trying different requests, I get the same response. Thank you, in any event, for pointing it out :)

It's worth noting, however that I, and others, have gotten this response after uploading the content as well as referencing aged content on CatBox.
