Tucker pointed out that Putin was describing Ukrainian nationalism as Nazism. The "punch Nazis" theme is propaganda which serves his purpose of completely dissolving the Ukrainian state and apportioning each part to neighboring states according to majority cultural identity. He'd keep Crimea and much of the rest. It's interesting when you read between the lines.

Now I imagine it's possible to negotiate a peace deal producing a much smaller NATO member Ukraine that captures these territories which would otherwise be yielded to current NATO states anyway if Ukraine were split according to Putin's lines.
