I've seen him discuss religion on multiple occasions and he claimed to be an Episcopalian.

Well… only about 7 or 8 months. I tried to take care of it, but I was a Blackhawk crewchief, so I was hanging outside my window a lot while flying, especially while setting up for landing, looking for bad guys trying to kill me. One day I had it at the start of the mission, end of the mission it was gone.

But in aviation, we tended to bend the rules a little anyway, and it helped that a lot of my crotchety old pilots were doing far dumber shit than I was and MOSTLY getting left alone.
