But after giving their first 2 albums a relisten recently, the music aged surprisingly well. Usually when I listen to old music from this time period it sounds old and stale. I'd say their first 2 albums is some of the best from that era.

Agreed, I hate that bullshit music. It is generic garbage. That sound was okay when it first came out, but so many other bands copied that boring ass noise and I get no joy from listening to it. There's so much good music out in the wild that everyone has an opportunity to find a cache of good songs to listen to. I don't like this band, but then again OP probably doesn't like some of the stuff I listen to as well. To each their own. Pandora FTW.

I really really love music. Like, I really fuckin love it. My personal motto is "What would we do without music" and I'm being serious right now. That said, that's the kind of music that you grow out of. I'm no snob or anything, and it's not a bad song. I just wish people would listen to music that means something played by people that love music. I don't know if I'm explaining myself correctly, but this shit really bothers me.

People said the same back then. Originally I hated the band but they grew on me over time. I don't think they sound gay. I am the type who can enjoy a Hall and Oates song with no fucks given.They sound gay. But I can appreciate good music regardless of the real or perceived flamboyance of it.
