They went downhill when their direction changed with Gears of War. Remember when they were called Epic Megagames in the 90's? They produced some solid DOS titles. They were great into the early '00s; Unreal Tournament and UT2k4 are still some of the most fun shooters I ever played. Then everyone and their mother decided that slow, brown, ugly, and edgy was going to be the new look of gaming for a while.
