The trick here is to not stop protesting. Keep blocking up everything with tractors, spraying manure, etc. Continuously demand more and more: laws that make it illegal to try this again or in a different version, resignations, etc. If the protesting stops now, they'll just keep people placated until they can sneak it through some other time.
