As I mentioned in another post here, "interest-free loans" tend to benefit the "lender" in other ways. Here, it obviously meant someone was buying a Ford vehicle; and the borrower would owe penalties or have the vehicle confiscated if he failed to pay. I'm also betting people who bought with cash were able to finagle discounts that those using credit didn't have access to.

That seems fine.

I think when you try to setup your scheme and you end up realizing you need capital -- unless you are just made of it -- jews get involved.

If you can afford to basically front your customers, then great. I think airplane manufacturers do it, with interest.

Yeah. Even if the loan was 0% interest any losses from this arrangement would be "priced in" to anyone else buying a car. Money is just a tool. I am no economist but from my memory I believe that the role of interest is to assign a time value of money.

Do you really think all the problems in the west would change if everything was the same except that interest was outlawed?

I don't think people mentally handle loans properly, much less interest. The ability to back-load capital production (and yes, homes are capital) is fraught with danger, and it does tend to push inflation some.

Even so, banks lending money while leaving it on cash ledgers is IMO a much bigger issue, that Ponzi scheme is really feeding inflation.

Loans are not forbidden in Catholicism. As long as there is a collateral being offered, set rules for payment and no interest being compounded (you could still set fines for no payments)

So why the jews then?

Greed. Jews offered (((better))) conditions not tied to the Church's teaching.

Installment plans used to be a pretty common thing as I understand it. And of course, that's without interest. Consumer credit is a big rip off, although, an appreciating asset or something that will generate more revenue could be an option worth considering.

Given that the government is made up of "public servants," shouldn't government student loans be at a 0% interest rate? Maybe a servicing fee charged by the loan servicer, but all of this Babylonian money magic is tiresome.

Too bad the program was without interest, it sounds like it would've been successful had it gotten any attention.

Was this before inflation?

With inflation you are losing money on such deals, because the currency loses value with time.

Even Jews today do this, for up to 30k

[ - ] bonghits4jeebus 0 points 3 monthsFeb 4, 2024 17:42:07 ago (+0/-0)

For up to 30k what?

[ - ] PotatoWhisperer2 0 points 3 monthsFeb 4, 2024 13:09:38 ago (+0/-0)

You factor in such things in the original price. And the marketing goodwill alone is worth a few extra dollars of 3-5 years worth of minor inflation.

[ - ] Wahaha 0 points 3 monthsFeb 5, 2024 07:50:44 ago (+0/-0)

If it's more expensive to pay in increments then what's the difference? Or do you suggest they make it more expensive even for people who can pay upfront?

You have no idea how business works. Thank god.

Is business immune to how math works?
