I got rear ended by a chink on my first and last trip to San Francisco. Just picked up my rental and the fucker slammed into me. Did all the tourist shit and wasn't all that impressed. Bought my first Rolex in a little town right outside San Fran and headed north into wine country where I was, as much as anywhere I've ever been, very much impressed. My wife's never asked to go back so she must not have been all that impressed with San Francisco either. Now San Diego, that's a different story. Or was the last time I was there.

I'd never go back to LA seeing videos of what it is now. Even 15 years ago it could be dangerous, but there was enough nice stuff to keep me occupied for a few weeks. I loved the La Brea Tar Pits because I'm a sucker for those edutainment films and animatronics.

The Napa valley is a fine place for a day trip. I like to go further, up into Yountville even. I can access that region from where I reside through the Berryessa Gap, hitting Yountville on the way down to Napa. It’s a long, windy, very steep and hilly road, but it’s kinda fun to drive. There’s some good turnouts with good sights along the way. I the road is a bit hairy though, but I learned it pulling my 16 foot window trailer fully loaded on the way to some of the better work I did back when I did contract installations.

San Diego has a great climate and the singer Jim Croce's wife has a restaurant there named Croce's. Plus a great zoo. But it was already the winter haven of west coast homeless an that was back in 1990. Probably much weirder now.

Wife and I lived in Hillcresst, an othewise gay neighborhood. We were treated like their pets. Today it's lots of Mexicans I'm guessing.

We are also paying for their gas. It's not actually cheaper per mile. The equivalent of a gallon of gas for them is at $17.00/gal, and we are paying for it. We are paying $17/gal for someone else's gas.

Had to get out into a long stream of traffic where there were no lights for either the stream of traffic or me so there was never a slowdown so I picked a spot where a Tesla was and pulled right out knowing the Tesla would slow down.
