Hey that last 5 hour podcast ... Holy hell that was an eye opener. I was yelling at the screen with how stupid his fellow bears sounded coming out to defend him.

They say what we want to hear, they pwn teh libz and it's oh-so-funny. And then, after they are well-established, they turn on their fans. Milo turned out to be a fucking informant, Robinson was a con artist from the beginning, etc..
Something about Owen Benjammin's eyes has always unsettled me. My ex-girlfriend even said something like "There's something I don't like about him". I think that is the incredibly potent female intuition- she looked at him, heard him, and came to a conclusion that something is off about him.
The stories about Owen go back a long way. He didn't just wake up a few days ago like this.

I agree with you basically. To be clear: Leto does most of this, though I guess Paul predicted it. He does it specifically to warn people off the God-emperor thing.
Yes, Paul could've been what his son became, but his guilt and fears made him abandon his role as the Emperor and run off into the desert, leaving his son Leto to do what he could not- become mankind's most horrible predator, to rule as a tyrant for millennia.
