If you're going to see a prostitute, you should be willing to spend the money on one of those upper-class escort types- you shouldn't be out trolling the streets. This is how you get stabbed or catch a disease. The extra money you pay is for cleanliness, safety, a nice spot to meet, etc..

My feelings about prostitution have changed a few times in my life. I go back and forth on whether it should be legal or not. Whether it's legal or not, it WILL continue to go on, and if left illegal, the lives of these women remain in the hands of disgusting pimps rather than a clean, above-board establishment where the women are tested regularly for diseases and drugs, there is armed security to protect the women from lunatics... It's like with some drugs, where it might be better to just let it be.

By driving prostitution underground, it becomes a more valuable commodity, which draws more young girls and boys to it. If it was left out in the light, I don't think it would have the same allure. Men might also be more hesitant to use the services, if there's a record of them visiting a brothel somewhere.

I don't know if you should be messing with prostitutes if you can't afford a few hundred dollars to spend time with one. My heart sinks for a woman that has to give up her entire body for 120 dollars to a man who could be a fucking serial killer. It's all wrong.

Legal prostitution means regulated by government, and you know how well government runs things. Illegal prostitution means regulated by the market, so to speak.

I wouldn't want to hand the reigns of something (or anything really) like this over to the federal government. The more government becomes involved in any given thing, the more corrupt it becomes. Look at the modern medical industry. These pharmaceutical companies get away with OUTRAGEOUS shit because their oversight comes from the FDA- You know, the group of people who are all probably bribed/blackmailed into ignoring the horrors being committed on their watch.

Things like brothels should be overseen at the county level- the communities handling shit, not bureaucrats.
